On May 15, 2018 at about 9:30 PM, a shooting and
stabbing incident transpired at Purok 6, Barangay Bobuan, Bayog, Zamboanga del
Sur.
The victims identified as Jun Bulatoc Entag, 38
years old, married, construction worker and resident of Purok 6, Barangay
Bobuan, Bayog, Zamboanga del Sur and Botsoy Sumukla Sumolay, 24 years old,
single, farmer and resident of Barangay Balunay, Midsalip, Zamboanga del Sur.
Investigation conducted disclosed that prior to
the incident, the victim together with his wife Lorna Bulay Entag were walking
on their way home coming from Barangay hall of Bobuan of said municipality.
Upon reaching near the irrigation canal with
estimated distance of 200 meters away from the Barangay hall of said place,
they heard a two (2) gun burst, when suddenly the victim was hit and said
victim ran towards the direction where the gun burst emanated, while his wife
ran towards her relatives and asked assistance.
An hour later, the wife of the victim along with
her relatives returned to the place where the incident happened and found her
husband lying lifeless on the rice field of said place bathed with his own
blood and sustained gunshot wounds and one (1) stabbed wound on his left chest
which resulted to his instantaneous death.
Furthermore, at about twenty meters (20) away
from the place where the incident happened, victim identified as Botsoy Sumukla
Sumolay was found lying unconscious and sustained one (1) stabbed wound on his
right abdomen and was brought to Bayog Health Center and subsequently
transferred to Zamboanga del Sur Medical Center for further treatment.
Further investigation conducted disclosed that
based on the statement of the wife of the victim Lorna Bulay Entag on her
affidavit revealed that Botsoy Sumolay Y Sumukla, was the one who shot and
stabbed her husband as she lighted the suspect using a flash light during the
incident when the victim Jun Entag Y Bulatoc was able to attacked and stabbed
the suspect Botsoy Sumolay Y Sumukla hitting on his right abdomen.
Evidence recovered from the crime scene was one
(1) hunting knife measuring 14.5 inches long to include the handle which was
found twenty meters (20) away from the
place where the suspect was found lying at said place.
Appropriate case for murder is now being prepared
