Bayog, Zamboanga del Sur (March 28,
2018) – Fire Incident transpired at
the Ukay-Ukay Sections located inside the public market of Barangay Poblacion,
Bayog, Zamboanga Del Sur at about 12:00 Midnight of March 28, 2018.
Bayog Municipal Police Station
(MPS) OIC-Chief of Police Senior Inspector June A. Lawingan said the PNP
elements of Bayog MPS dispatched immediately to cordon the area and assist the
flow of traffic in the area.
Some police operatives secured the area for
any looters that might take advantage during the incident, he said.
Initial investigation conducted by
the investigator of Bureau of Fire Protection (BFP) disclosed that the fire
originated below the table from which the Ukay-Ukay has been displayed that
lasted for about ten (10) minutes and fortunately, there were no reported
injuries/casualties during the incident.
The BFP investigator added that the
cause of fire and estimated damage are still to be determined.(By JONG D.
